For sale is my like new 2016 BMW R1200RS. This is the exciting new model that is both a continuation of the BMW RS tradition and a departure from the latest BMW touring bikes. One would expect a stripped down RT with all the touring amenities and the telelever front suspension, but instead BMW based the RS on the latest R1200R, so a standard fork is fitted to the front and lightness is the key: no motorized adjustable windshield, even the saddlebags are lighter than the touring bikes. It turns out that at my age, I need to be riding a couch, so I should have gotten an RT. For all the info you need on this new model, Revzilla has an excellent review. Fully loaded with all available options, the Touring Package, Keyless Ride, GPS prep and Gear Assist Pro. As options, the bike comes with OEM hard saddlebags and engine guards. You are bidding on a nice and very original numbers matching 1978 BMW R 80/7 motorcycle This motorcycle was pickled (all fluids drained) and stored in a garage in North Florida for over 12 years. Originally purchased in Germany by owner who was in the military so it has the kilometer speedometer instead of reading miles. Shows only 16,400 kilometers or 10,160 miles, and the condition and how it runs tells the story. It is all original except for the battery, tires and front brake hose which I replaced. It was missing and I added one of the side gas tank BMW emblems which does not have the clear factory coating. It is very nice with a few scratches and a small crack in the plastic fairing as has been pictured. The inside of the gas tank is in like new condition with its original red coating. Everything works as it should, the tires are over 10 years old and believed to date back to 2005 but have very little wear. It could use new mufflers and front shocks are a little stiff. Needs a good cleaning and detailing. The bike was first titled in the USA in April 2013 under my name and I am the second owner. I have owned it for about 3 years and only rode it about 230 kilometers since August 2013. Very original and nice motorcycle for the serious collector looking for originality and low miles. Original factory paint and pinstriping. Missing the tool box and tool kit. It comes with its original German issue owners manual which is somewhat weathered from humidity but pages are readable. 2005 BMW R1200 GS with 27,000 miles. I have owned this bike for approximately 6 years and I have put 10,000 miles on it. I purchased the bike in 2009 from a Delta Airlines pilot who had owned it since new and maintained the bike perfectly. I now own 3 BMW motorcycles and can only ride one at a time, so I am selling this bike. All fluids were replaced two months ago and I just replaced the battery also. The bike has newer tires with less than 2,000 miles of light use. Bike has never been down. BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles
Fri, 25 Feb 2022The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.
