BMW R-Series description

I purchased this vehicle in April of this year.

It passed inspection and received a complete tune-up at Bob's BMW in Maryland.

Tires and brakes are good.  Paint is good (with minor nicks that can probably be buffed out).

The bike starts on the first try every time.  ABS works as do all the amenities.  I have an extra windshield, bar risers, tank bag and sissy-bar bag.

It rides like a dream.  Seriously, the balance and handling on this motorcycle is incredible!  Solo or with a passenger.  I went on a couple of trips and commuted with it all summer.

We just found out that there will be an addition to the family and that means no more bike for me.

Please email me with any questions and I'll answer them quickly.

The buy it now price includes a brand-new (in May) Olympia Airglide Jacket (3 season, armored) Size Large, and a brand-new, never dropped HJC helmet (black) if you want it.

BMW Warns of Potential Defect in 2014 R1200RT Suspension

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

BMW is issuing a warning to owners of the 2014 R1200RT with the Dynamic ESA option about a potential defect with the rear suspension. No formal recall has been announced at the moment; BMW is calling it a precautionary measure, though that may change in time or depending on the market. According to BMW, the piston rod of the rear spring strut could break.

The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

WSBK: 2011 Utah Results

Tue, 31 May 2011

Carlos Checa extended his lead in the 2011 World Superbike Championship, winning both races at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park. The Althea Ducati racer recorded his second double of the season and now has six wins in ten races. Checa also scored the double in Utah in 2008 when Miller Motorsports Park made its debut on the WSBK calendar.
