2005 Triumph Bonneville - Low Reserve (2005)
This auction bid is for a 2005 Triumph Bonneville. I am the original owner and purchased the bike new in early 2006. The bike is stock with the exception of a Triumph accessory tachometer kit and a BellaCorse air injection eliminator kit. Mechanically the bike is very solid, and I've never had a mechanical issue in 7+ years of ownership. I just installed a new battery I would rate the cosmetic condition as fair to good as the bike was exposed to road salt several years ago while being trailered and there is some corrosion on the engine cases, the left exhaust pipe and one side of the front wheel. The tank, side covers, fenders and seat are in perfect condition. There are a couple of maintenance issues that need to be addressed as follows: The tires are original and the rear tire needs replacement. Front tire has 25-30 percent of tread remaining and probably has a year left The headlight high beam is burned out and as such the headlight should be replaced (low beam works fine) I have reflected the cosmetic issues and tire/battery needs into the reserve price, which is roughly 50% of the NADA used book value. I purchased a new bike recently and can't afford to keep both, so this bike is priced to sell. This is a great opportunity acquire a mechanically reliable, reasonably priced bike as a daily rider (fuel mileage is a consistent 50 mpg!) or a great platform for restoration/customization/performance work as the cosmetic issues can be easily addressed (I had planned a full restoration with new exhaust/jet kit but don't have the time). This bike is offered as-is with no warranty. I will provide additional information on condition as well as additional photos upon request. I have relisted this bike due to a bidder that was not willing to pick up the bike and pay within the specified timeframe so please do not bid unless you are serious about paying and taking delivery within the specified timeframe. Motorcycle has been completely rebuilt with two new carburetors (32mm Mikuni upgrade carb but have have the original Amals/air cleaners/cables and they go with the bike to the luck new owner). New wiring harness, upgraded ignition, I replaced the infamous Lucas "Prince of Darkness" voltage rectifier, Petronics electronic ignition upgrade. Brand new correct chrome rims from England laced with stainless steel spokes and new Dunlop correct tires. new coils, I have replaced all cables and bike has new brake shoes. The equipment will include an Öhlins NIX30 inverted fork and a rear TTX monoshock, Brembo Stylema braking system, TFT instrument panel, tilting ABS and a drive mode select system.

The motorcycle received an inline 1050cc “triple”, installed on the latest generation of Speed Triple, an electronic “throttle”, a multi-level traction control, cruise control, ABS and a slipper clutch. There is no full specification yet, but it is known that the motorcycle will be produced in two color options: silver and black.

Triumph is recalling motorcycles due to problems with electronics

According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.

Major Updates Coming for 2015 Triumph Tiger 800
Thu, 09 Oct 2014Triumph is set to reveal some new updates to its Tiger 800 including a number of different versions making it either more highway or more off-road oriented. The both the Tiger 800XC and the less adventure-worthy Tiger 800 will see two new variants, with the Tiger 800 likely being rebranded as the Tiger 800XR. A newly-published executive order from the California Air Resources Board reveals the names for four new Tiger 800 variants known as the XCA (likely standing for XC Adventure), XCX, XRT (or XR Touring) and XRX.
