    This circa 1971 Rickmann Metisse was completely disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up.  The 500cc Triumph twin engine was done by the late Jim Strohmeier and chassis work by Matt Hilgenberg of Speed & Sport. Frame was nickle plated, rims powdercoated and laced with SS spokes/nipples, new wheel bearings, replated hardware, seat cover, fork seals, tires & tubes.  All chromed parts rechromed; all alloy polished. I built the wiring harness to incorporate head and tail lights and horn.  Electrics controlled by a Mity-Max regulator/rectifier/battery eliminator.  Beautiful, lightweight, powerful example of a classic Rickman Metisse.

    I pre-owned it as my primary means of trans to school and work during the early to mid 80s and had the bottom end and new pistons done by Bills Triumph in San Bernadino, Ca at 25k it has been garaged its whole life and last year I took it apart and polished every bolt washer and nut on it. I had the fenders, tank, side case and chain cover painted in orig colors and the painter researched the paint to get it just right. I put new tires battery and rubber fork covers on as well as the other misc rubber items.

    This Auction is for a rare SURVIVOR an AMAZINGLY original factory racing Triumph T120TT Special,NEVER used or registered for street use ALWAYS used as a racer period. Here is the description I got from Paul Buccola who owned it for over 30 years.  The Triumph started out life in 1966 as a 650cc TT Special as  manufactured by the Triumph factory for use by Triumph of Burbank  for Tourist Trophy Class C racing in the US.The bike was book marked for Dusty Coppage to ride who with Eddie Mulder were Jack Hately's Burbank De Triumph team riders but, Dusty Coppage did not like the handling of the new, for 1966, frame geometry and choose to ride  a 1965 Triumph model  instead  .The bike was sold  after the 1966 season to Donnie Harris who used it primarily at Ascot Park for junior TT racing.

Triumph has unveiled a new product called the Tiger Sport. The motorcycle received an inline 1050cc “triple”, installed on the latest generation of Speed Triple, an electronic “throttle”, a multi-level traction control, cruise control, ABS and a slipper clutch. There is no full specification yet, but it is known that the motorcycle will be produced in two color options: silver and black.

Triumph has released a stuffed limited-edition Tiger Explorer XC that will be tested by Globebusters in England. 50 units of equipment will go on free sale. America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC will be recalled by the British company. According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.

Major Updates Coming for 2015 Triumph Tiger 800

Triumph is set to reveal some new updates to its Tiger 800 including a number of different versions making it either more highway or more off-road oriented. The both the Tiger 800XC and the less adventure-worthy Tiger 800 will see two new variants, with the Tiger 800 likely being rebranded as the Tiger 800XR. A newly-published executive order from the California Air Resources Board reveals the names for four new Tiger 800 variants known as the XCA (likely standing for XC Adventure), XCX, XRT (or XR Touring) and XRX.
