It is factory original except for new tires and a new battery.  This is probably the cleanest 2004 Tiger you will ever find again.     This marked the first time such components had been used for a series-production street bike, making for arguably the best-looking Triumph motor of all time along with garnering considerable weight savings. A fitting move as the Tiger 100 was always the sports version of Edward Turner's trend-setting Speed Twin. The company's 500cc Grand Prix production racer was phased out, but Triumph offered a Speed Kit for the T100 should hot-blooded owners want to indulge in racetrack forays. Good for an extra 10 horsepower, it consisted of high-compression pistons, hotter camshafts, megaphone exhaust pipes and a twin-carburetor setup, among other speed goodies. This first-year alloy Tiger was apparently in the previous ownership of a sporting gentlemen, as it runs twin carbs and short 'meggas'. Non-standard badges and striping adorn the gas tank, while a chrome-plated oil tank and taillight bracket attract the eye. Engine no.

The TR7 Tiger combined 'the traditional virtues of thoroughbred handling with a power bonus from the 750cc engine. Single carb design provides miserly fuel consumption of up to 75mpg with fuss free reliability.' Like the T140, it ran at 7.9:1 compression with alloy conrods, plain big end bearings and ball and roller mains; used a multiplate clutch, triplex primary chain, welded oil bearing frame with taper roller head bearings, had a seat height of 31 inches, seven inches of ground clearance and weighed around 415lb (189kg) dry.

The motorcycle received an inline 1050cc “triple”, installed on the latest generation of Speed Triple, an electronic “throttle”, a multi-level traction control, cruise control, ABS and a slipper clutch. There is no full specification yet, but it is known that the motorcycle will be produced in two color options: silver and black.

According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.

Major Updates Coming for 2015 Triumph Tiger 800

Triumph is set to reveal some new updates to its Tiger 800 including a number of different versions making it either more highway or more off-road oriented. The both the Tiger 800XC and the less adventure-worthy Tiger 800 will see two new variants, with the Tiger 800 likely being rebranded as the Tiger 800XR. A newly-published executive order from the California Air Resources Board reveals the names for four new Tiger 800 variants known as the XCA (likely standing for XC Adventure), XCX, XRT (or XR Touring) and XRX.
