    We have a beautiful Yamaha XS 650 Flat Tracker built by Mule Motorcycles, this bike was featured in the March 2007 issue of Iron Horse Magazine.  This bike features a late 70's xs650 frame that was modified to accept a C&J head tube, a new down tube was fabricated with all chromoly tubing with all of the new engine mount bolts being grade 8 steel.  The front end consists of custom clamps holding Showa adjustable dampening forks from a Buell X-1 Lightning attached to stainless handlebars from Woods racing and a headlight assembly from a Harley Sportster.   The motor was completed disassembled and rebuilt, case were powdercoated with the top end being bead blasted. Mule Motorcycles used a Shell big bore 750 "street kit" along with all new gaskets and seals, new brass oil screens and finshed it off with new Barnett clutch springs.  34mm Mikuni carbs were used to get the fuel to the engine with K&N air filters to keep all of the dirt elements out of the motor while using a modified Triumph Speed Triple slipon exhaust system. This tricked out motorcycle also sports an all aluminum gas tank made by Racetec with a special flush mounted cap which was painted by Uptown Cycle Designs and the seat was fabricated by First Class Glass.

    FOR SALE - 1982 Yamaha 400 Heritage Special.  This hard to find model is in excellent used condition both mechanically and cosmetically.  It has covered only 6037 miles from new as of this date.  The bike needs nothing to be used every day as is.  There are no required repairs.  Everything works as it should.  Tires and the dual seat are in excellent condition.  Currently the bike has a set of black drag-style bars fitted, but the original chrome low riser-style bars are included with the sale.  The pipes are quiet, and acceleration is strong.  There will be no disappointments with this bike by any reasonable person - it is as nice as any used bike could be that has covered the indicated miles.  It is not in concours condition, but there are no apologies as to its condition.      Folks this is a real nice example of an original condition 1974 Yamaha XS650.  I bought this bike from the second owner, who bought it from the original owners estate sale after his death. The original owner put all the miles on it, then parked it in the late Seventies in his kitchen in Missouri (mistake in movie, said California--it was Missouri) . I was told that there were some fifty odd original bikes at that sale, all Yamahas and all in this kind of condition.

    Bike was built from a clean 8800 mile 1980 xs.TC bros. hardtail,Pamco electronic ign.,XS charge pma conversion,Mikuni round slide carbs with uni pod filters.New sportster tank .TC bros ridged rear fender,both painted with House of Colors ultra orange pearl.Has tapered neck bearings,new wheel bearings ,clutch pushrod seal replaced.New gold chain,new  front and rear brake pads.Bike was completely gone through and everything that needed replacing was and problem areas of the xs updated.Starts on 1or2 kicks cold and like half a kick when warm.Pipes were made from stock headpipes cut off and heat wrapped.Custom welded on sidemount liscence plate holder with old school tail light,wiring ran thru frame.The electric starter is on bike,just not wired in.Gel battery.Valves and timing chain adjusted.
