What’s left of the C50′s seat and saddlebags after a bear attacked the bike. Image courtesy erstarnews.com According to a post on Elk River Star News.com (erstarnews.com) a bear did some serious damage to a Suzuki Boulevard C50 before realizing the cruiser wasn’t as tasty as maybe it first appeared. The Star News reports that Tammy Luukkonen’s damaged Boulevard was discovered by her husband Roy Luukkonen.

John Hopkins Returning to British Superbike Racing

American racer John Hopkins is ready to make his comeback after taking the entire 2013 racing season off to recover from a number of injuries. The Ramona, Calif., native will make his return in the British Superbike Championship, racing for Tyco Suzuki on the TAS Racing GSX-R1000. Hopkins last raced in the series in 2011, finishing second overall in the championship that was decided in the final race when Hopkins finished 0.006 seconds behind the champion Tommy Hill.

Ryan Villopoto claimed his first win of the 2013 AMA Supercross season and his first since the knee injury at last year’s Seattle round that kept him out of the 2012 AMA Motocross championship. The victory in front of 37,789 fans at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., made up for his disappointing 16th place finish two weeks earlier at the same site. His Monster Energy Kawasaki teammate Jake Weimer held the early advantage in the main event, taking the holeshot ahead of the Honda Muscle Milk duo of Justin Barcia and Trey Canard.
