BMW R-Series description

I am selling this for a friend who due to medical reasons can no longer ride. The bike is imaculate other than the brake fluid stain seen in the photos on the tank. I am not sure if this might be able to be buffed out. Extras on the bike are leather saddle bags, mirror like chrome engine guards and windshield. From its inception, the R1200C featured a passenger seat that could fold up to become a driver backrest with three different angles, adjustable while riding. Because he can't ride he is also including a xxl jacket, xxl gloves and xxl helmet along with a motorcycle garage jack new and still in the box. This was always garaged... NEVER ridden in the rain and was his pride and joy which he cared for with kid gloves. This bike was seen in the James Bond film TOMORROW NEVER DIES. The location is in sequim washington which is on the olympic penninsula. here are some specs: Engine and transmission Displacement: 1170.00 ccm (71.39 cubic inches) Engine type: Two cylinder boxer, four-stroke Power: 61.00 HP (44.5 kW)) @ 5000 RPM Torque: 98.00 Nm (10.0 kgf-m or 72.3 ft.lbs) @ 3000 RPM Top speed: 170.0 km/h (105.6 mph) Valves per cylinder: 4 Cooling system: Air Gearbox: 5-speed Transmission type, final drive: Shaft drive (cardan) Chassis, suspension, brakes and wheels Front brakes: Dual disc Rear brakes: Single disc Physical measures and capacities Dry weight: 239.0 kg (526.9 pounds) Power/weight ratio: 0.2552 HP/kg Seat height: 740 mm (29.1 inches) If adjustable, lowest setting. Homemade Diesel V6 Motorcycle

Mon, 02 Mar 2009

Get the Flash Player to see this player. For as long as motorcycles have been around, so too has there been an interest in modifying them. While many people opt for pin striping or aftermarket exhaust pipes, Michael Sturtz decided to drop a diesel V6 engine into his motorcycle.

Hi-Def video of BMW S1000RR on the dyno

Mon, 15 Mar 2010

THERE'S SOMETHING rather cruel about ringing the nuts out of any bike on a dyno - a bit like poking a lion through the bars of a cage with a long stick... Anyway, not quite sure where I'm going with that one, so here's a rather lovely clip of BMW's much-lauded S1000RR getting a stationary pasting on a dyno. Not sure I'd be standing at the rear, mind you.
