Triumph Other description

2006 Triumph Speedmaster, GREAT CRUISER!! TAKE HER HOME TODAY!! - Dark, brooding lines and a pared-down hot-rod essence make the Speedmaster a standout middleweight cruiser from every angle. Its 865 cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine uses a 270-degree crank firing interval, giving a distinctive throbbing beat and smooth, torque-laden power delivery. Peak power of 54 bhp arrives at 6,500 rpm, with maximum torque of 51 . available at just 3,500 rpm. Both cylinders vent through a pair of long, deep-chromed mufflers while the satin-black engine finish adds a crisp, understated edge to the handsome lines of what is a very evocative powerplant. The riding position too, which is slightly more purposeful than the usual laid-back cruising stance sets the Speedmaster apart. High risers mount the flat drag’ handlebars on the slab-style top clamp and match the chromed, forward-set footpegs. The rider sits supported and cupped’ into the gunslinger seat, ready to launch at the horizon. Cast wheels add style – the 18-inch front wears a 110/80 tire, the near-solid 15-inch rear a 170/80. The twin shocks and wide-style telescopic forks straighten the curves and iron out the bumps, giving a planted and supple ride. Twin 310 mm front discs – gripped by twin-piston calipers – haul the Speedmaster up extremely hard. As a hot-rodded Factory Custom’, the Speedmaster proves the ethos of less is more, and minimalism is key to the bike’s harder edge. The rev-counter is mounted discretely on the fuel-tank nacelle, the large round white-faced speedometer perches cleanly in the rider’s line of sight on its top-clamp mounting. The tank itself holds 16.6 liters of fuel, giving a useful range. The Speedmaster’s paint options are plain Jet Black, Jet Black with Sunset Red infill and Jet Black with Neon Blue infill. If the Speedmaster’s bare bones want a little more flesh on them, the Triumph accessory range features an array of bolt-ons specifically designed to lend even more appeal and individuality. With its punchy engine, mean looks and souped-up chassis the Speedmaster is the very essence of an old-school street rod, packing performance and style into one very individual motorcycle.

Triumph is recalling motorcycles due to problems with electronics

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC will be recalled by the British company. According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.

Speed Triple gets mean

Fri, 29 Oct 2010

I headed up the M1 this week to the Triumph Factory in Hinckley. The Speed Triple was due its 12000 mile major service and the workshop also had some new shiny bits to add to the bike for me. Service intervals are every 6000 miles which is more than bearable but the major service will cost you around £450.
