Buell Ulysses tech info
Buell Ulysses description
Hi there and thank you for viewing my listing ! I've been riding motorcycles for a few decades now (damn I'm old) and have in that time raced motocross, done a bunch of track days on my R1's, and have logged a few hundred thousand miles on two wheels... I'm a motorcycle guy. This Buell is one the most capable and comfortable bikes in existence- (feel free to challenge that, but the loser pays the expenses). I can take her on twisty roads like the kancamagus Highway in NH and drag my knee sliders, on the very comfortable two hour ride back home I have taken detours through power line trails. Essentially, this bike is happy just about anywhere and has given me years of enjoyment. The Bike- A 2006 Buell XB-12XT with 24,000 miles. Oil's changed religiously every 3k miles with HD's full Synthetic blend coupled to a K&N oil filter and a regularly cleaned K&N filtercharger air filter. Performance- ECMSPY software uploaded and running a custom tune developed to complement my short list of performance parts. Ported Airbox cover, feeding a K&N airfilter Hawk Performance exhaust - Loudest version (still civil but you Will be heard) Removed exhaust butterfly valve, I think I still have it somewhere and can include it in the sale Right side air scoop for better cooling to the rear cylinder. Recently rebuilt front forks. EBC HH compound front and rear brake pads w 80 % life left. Comfort- Two windscreens- a tinted ZeroGravity that's a good deal taller than stock while maintaining a very sport look. The second screen is the Large Memphis Shade (with Palmer adapter) one pictured and blocks just about all the wind, Great for late season riding. Heated Grips thanks to the Oxford Heaterz Premier Adventure grips, these will Burn your hand without gloves on the highest setting. Wrapped headers. Palmer Highway Brackets which really let you stretch out on longer rides. I also have some wind deflectors for the front forks I'll include in the sale. Touring bits- Palmer Light bracket, coupled to two 16 watt led lights and a waterproof light switch from Twisted Throttle. The headlights have also been modified with brighter bulbs and the wiring has been modified so both headlights come on when the high beam is engaged. A led battery gauge from kuryakyn. Hepco Becker- Gobi 37 Liter Panniers Hepco Becker- Top box w wired in super bright led light. I used bullet connectors so you can easily remove the box. Dry Spec large tool tubes mounted to the Gobi panniers each with a 30 oz red MSR fuel can. TomTom late model GPS mounted on RAM Mounts motorcycle GPS holder Important- Tires will need replacement very soon. They are Metzler's Turance Next tires and I Highly recommend them. I brilliantly misplaced the keys for the panniers so I'm using a generic key which does the trick with some wiggling. The top box is missing the tumbler, so to lock it that will need to be replaced. I haven't bothered with these as she lives in the garage and I haven't been able to ride much lately anyways, The battery is about five years old and still runs strong, but not sure how long it will last. It is spending the off season on a battery tender. She is a 2006 and as such has a host of character adding imperfections but nothing major. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and bid with confidence as this bike has been very well taken care of. Naturally, I'm happy to assist with the shipping arrangements. |

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season
Fri, 12 Apr 2013AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.
EBR Nation Part 1: The Making of the 1190RS
Wed, 27 Jul 2011Erik Buell Racing has released the first in a new series of videos about the new 1190RS race bike. The first video is more of a prologue to introduce the weekly series, but later segments will feature interviews with Erik Buell and racer Geoff May, and a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the EBR 1190RS superbike. If we’re lucky, we might also get a look at what Buell has in store with its upcoming RX, SX and AX models.
