Yamaha Signed On As Presenting Sponsor For Three-Event GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout

Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., is proud to announce that it has signed on as sponsor for the GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout Presented By Yamaha, a three-event championship motorcycle road racing series that includes the Yamaha SoCal Nationals at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA on April 26-27; the Pacific Nationals at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA on May 3-4; and the Mountain Nationals at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT on May 24-25. The announcement was made by Bob Starr, General Manager of National Communications for Yamaha’s Motorsports Group. Ryan Villopoto has captured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship with a dominating performance at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer took the lead early in the race after passing holeshot-taker Davi Millsaps on the opening lap. Villopoto would lead the rest of the way for his eighth win of the season.

New 2012 Yamaha Zuma 50F Four-Stroke Scooter Unveiled

Yamaha unveiled the new 2012 Zuma 50F four-stroke scooter, the replacement for the two-stroke Zuma. The new 2012 Yamaha Zuma 50F is powered by a 49cc liquid-cooled fuel injected four-stroke engine, an update from the 2011 Zuma’s 49cc air-cooled carbureted two-stroke engine. According to Yamaha, the Zuma 50F claims an estimated 132 mpg compared to the two-stroke Zuma’s claimed 123 mpg.
