Up for bid is my 1979 XS11. New paint last year. Very clean and runs and shifts well. Currently has pod filters on , stock air box comes with it. It would run even better with stock air box on because the pods restrict the air flow and cause a problem at full throttle. If your familiar with the bike you know they put out good HP. I put a new tire on the front 3 years ago and the back looks ok. It has not been plated since I added to my collection in march 2010. Nice older performance touring bike. Thanks for looking. Fri, 15 May 2009Named after a man by the name of Zebulon Pike, an explorer who led an expedition to the area in 1806, Pikes Peak is home to the second oldest motorsports race in America second only to the Indianapolis 500. First completed in 1916, this year marks the 87th running of the “Race to the Clouds.” If the math doesn’t add up, this is because there were several years that the event did not run over the course of its 93 year history. The 12.4 mile trek up the mountain consists of 156 treacherous turns to an elevation of 14,110 feet.
