848 Challenge Oulton Park official race report

An emphatic and confident double win for James Folkard (Minards Pavlou Solicitors/Win43.com) this weekend cemented his position as one of the front-runners in the Ducati 848 Challenge. After some strong results at Snetterton and Misano, a first win for the man from Liverpool seemed inevitable, and this weekend at the Ducati Manchester sponsored Oulton Park round he walked away with a maximum points haul. Robbie Brown (Ducati Manchester) could only manage a third and a second despite feeling good about his chances for a victory, but he won’t be getting too worried yet as he extended his lead over closest rival Darren Fry (Hirebase Ducati Coventry) to 62.5 points.

WSBK: 2012 Miller Results

Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. Sidecar Motocross Racer Tests Positive for Clenbuterol

The International Motorcycling Federation announced it has provisionally suspended sidecar motocross passenger Lauris Daiders after a urine sample tested positive for the prohibited substance clenbuterol. The positive test came from an in-competition urine test at the July 21 FIM Sidecar Motocoss Championship round in Strassbessenbach, Germany. Lauris rides passenger with his brother Janis Daiders in the Sidecar Motocross world championship.
