Our Euro correspondent Tor Sagen is one of the first in the world to ride MV Agusta’s brand-new F4 and F4 RR, both equipped with lean-angle sensors, electronically assisted shifting and more. The up-spec RR flagship features an electronic Ohlins suspension and steering damper controlled by a dedicated Ohlins ECU unit, enabling full suspension adjustment (excluding preload) via the press of a button. Also new is the F4’s engine, with the RR claiming 201 crankshaft horsepower at 13,600 rpm, just shy of its new 14K redline.

ParkinGo Racing has signed former Moto2 racer Roberto Rolfo and former British Superbike racer Christian Iddon to compete in the 2013 World Supersport Championship. Rolfo and Iddon will ride the MV Agusta F3 675 in the Italian manufacturer’s return to the international road racing scene. MV Agusta is returning to the international racing scene, signing a three-year contract the ParkinGo race team to compete in the World Supersport Championship. ParkinGo technicians will handle the development of the MV Agusta F3 675 for Supersport competition. As yet, no riders have been announced for the ParkinGo MV Agusta team.

The 2013 MV Agusta Rivale 800 has been voted the most beautiful motorcycle of the 2012 EICMA Show in a poll of over 15,000 visitors to the show in Milan, Italy. The Rivale captured 35.5% of the votes to win the honor, well ahead of the new Ducati Hypermotard SP which finished second in the voting at 22.9%. The two new Italian models are direct competitors in the middleweight motard segment, with the now-liquid-cooled 821cc Hypermotard SP facing off against the three-cylinder Rivale 800.

MV Agusta has a new entry in the motard segment, unveiling the new Rivale 800 at the 2012 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. The 2013 MV Agusta Rivale 800 is powered by a 798cc engine based on the three-cylinder 675cc engine with a counter-rotating crankshaft used in the F3 and Brutale 675. The same 798cc version of the engine is mounted on the new Brutale 800 and both models claim a peak output of 123.3 hp.

MV Agusta has made it no secret it is producing an 800cc motard-styled model using a larger version of 675cc three-cylinder engine from the F3 and the Brutale 675. MV Agusta had been openly talking about the new model, expected to be called the Rivale, releasing a sketch of it earlier this week. Less discussed, but probably expected, was the same larger Triple engine would appear in another version of the Brutale.

What you see here is the first official sketch released by MV Agusta of the new Rivale, which is expected to be unveiled during EICMA 2012 and available to the public around Fall 2013. Powering the new Rivale is an 800cc version of the 675cc triple currently seen in the F3 and Brutale 675 models. A larger bore (81mm vs. 79mm) accounts for the bump in displacement.

The British Superbike Championship (or BSB) is arguably the most exciting domestic series in the world. It implemented new rules for 2012 designed to keep costs manageable by limiting the modifications allowed, which has resulted in tight racing the whole year.
