Kawasaki Vulcan description

I looked long and hard for this bike.  Wanted one since before they came out in 1998 and it took me many years to find one in the condition I wanted.  Thought I'd never sell it, but building a house and baby on the way says otherwise.  Folks that have seen this bike have described it as "sculptural."  It's that stunning. It came to me basic black but I had a Kawasaki mechanic remove the front and back wheels and fenders and then I sent them out to be painted red on the sides as seen in the photos.  Saw an old Indian painted this way once and loved it.  I took the forks and rear drive housing and stripped the plastic coating off them (it was scratched and cloudy) and sanded them all the way down to 1500 grit to remove scratches and lathe-turn marks.  Polished them up to shine like chrome and coated them with a special aluminum clear coating that looks fantastic.  I added the Dunlop wide-whites (2000 miles on them) and since the photos were taken, have added a National windscreen that is easily removed.  It is practically brand new.  The bike is more comfortable on the highway with the windscreen but looks more traditional without it. This is a beautiful bike that gets lots of attention, is super low, wide, long, and comfortable.  The stock exhaust has just enough of a rumble to sound powerful.  I think the tank has one small chip tough up on it, but you can't even notice it.  Other than that I can't think of anything else wrong with the bike.  One thing that I will mention is that occasionally the bike will have to sit a few minutes to restart after it has been ridden for a while.  It doesn't happen every time, I took it to the dealer who could find nothing wrong, and it hasn't really been an issue for me.  Just want to disclose everything I can think of.  If you like these gorgeous bikes, you won't be disappointed with this one.  They seem to have stopped depreciating and now are heading upwards in value.  I have seen a lot of the Indian-clones for sale here and elsewhere, you know the ones, with the Indian-head lights on the fenders, the fringes, and the Vulcan emblem removed and "Indian" stuck on the tank.  I chose not to go that direction with this one but you can make this bike your own from this point.  Just for your information,  I am not a regular vehicle seller on this site.  This is not my occupation or hobby.  I am the owner and operator of this bike who decided to pass along a great cycle to someone who appreciates it.

Shipping:  Will not ship, but will work with your shipping company to facilitate pickup of this bike at my location in Oak Hill, WV.  Continental US buyers only.  I will accept cash for immediate pickup, personal or cashiers check.  The vehicle and title will be held until the check clears.  Just for your information,  I am not a regular vehicle seller on this site.  This is not my occupation or hobby.  I don't buy and flip vehicles for money.  I am the owner and operator of this bike who decided to pass along a great cycle to someone who appreciates it.  Email with any questions and I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks for looking.

Davi Millsaps captured his second main event win of the season and expanded his AMA Supercross championship lead to 19 points with a wire-to-wire victory at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The Rockstar Energy Suzuki rider jumped ahead at the start for the holeshot and held that lead for the entire 20-lap race for the win. Finishing 2.386 seconds back was Team Honda Muscle Milk‘s Justin Barcia while Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey finished 10.300 seconds back for third place.

2014 AMA Supercross – Seattle Results

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Ryan Villopoto won his fifth race of the season while James Stewart took second place to just barely remain in contention for the 2014 AMA Supercross title. Meanwhile it was a bitter-sweet podium for third-place finisher KTM‘s Ryan Dungey who was officially mathematically eliminated from title contention. Racing in his home town of Seattle, Wash., Villopoto led every lap en route to an easy win, his fifth of the season.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Las Vegas Results

Mon, 07 May 2012

Ryan Dungey scored his fourth win of the season but it was not enough to take second place in the points race behind champion Ryan Villopoto. That honor went to JGRMX Yamaha‘s Davi Millsaps who placed second to Dungey in the season-ending race at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Dungey took the holeshot and led every lap to take the win for Red Bull KTM.
