The revolutionary engine design with the crankshaft positioned close to the center of gravity not only allows perfect handling of your 65 SX, it also helps optimize the intake flow in the crankcase. The patented KTM pressure-controlled exhaust valve (PCEV) and re-engineered outlet slide give you the edge in terms of power. The frame is modeled on the full-size bikes. As with the larger SX models, premium quality forged parts are robot-welded with high-grade chromoly steel pipes, guaranteeing first-rate quality. The WP mono-shock and the 35mm Marzocchi USD front fork add to the professional performance. The suspension is adjustable for individual riders and changing track conditions. KTM Teases New 1290 Naked Prototype Ahead of EICMA – Is This the New Super Duke?
Fri, 09 Nov 2012KTM has released pictures of a new 1290cc naked prototype, the so-called “Beast” whose engine roar KTM revealed earlier in the week. To be officially unveiled next week at the 2012 EICMA show, the new model is still unnamed, though judging by the brief glimpses of its styling and the KTM North American dealer meeting slide that leaked earlier this year, we’re pretty sure this new prototype will eventually become the KTM 1290 Super Duke. We’ll have more information Nov.
2013 AMA Supercross Daytona Race Report
Mon, 11 Mar 2013Ryan Villopoto won his fifth main event race of the year at Daytona to take over the lead in the 2013 AMA Supercross championship standings. The win is the third at Daytona in the Monster Energy Kawasaki racer’s career, matching the totals set by Bob Hannah, Mike Kiedrowski, Jeremy McGrath and Chad Reed. Only Ricky Carmichael, who designed the sand-based Daytona track, holds more Supercross wins at Daytona with five victories.
2013 AMA Supercross San Diego Race Report
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Davi Millsaps captured his second main event win of the season and expanded his AMA Supercross championship lead to 19 points with a wire-to-wire victory at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The Rockstar Energy Suzuki rider jumped ahead at the start for the holeshot and held that lead for the entire 20-lap race for the win. Finishing 2.386 seconds back was Team Honda Muscle Milk‘s Justin Barcia while Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey finished 10.300 seconds back for third place.
