MSF Begins Year-long Real World Motorcycle Safety Study

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation has started what it calls the first-ever naturalistic study of motorcycling, with 100 motorcycles equipped with data logging equipment to record real-world riding situations over the course of a year. KTM Presents 250cc Moto3 Engine

KTM revealed its new 250cc four-stroke engine that will be used in the Moto3 World Championship which is set to replace the 125cc class in 2012. The single cylinder engine is all new and not a repurposed motor from KTM‘s 250cc offroad engine portfolio and is said to weigh just 55 pounds. Official specs were not released, but Moto3 regulations dictate a maximum bore of 81mm, a rev limit of 14,000rpm.

EICMA 2011 Preview: 2012 KTM 690 Duke

KTM has released a video teasing its redesigned 690 Duke, which is set to make its debut at the 2011 EICMA show. The 2012 690 Duke will be powered by what KTM claims is the world’s most powerful Single-cylinder engine in production, with output expected to be close to 70hp. Updates include a side-mounted exhaust instead of the previous version’s underslung silencer, ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and weight savings from a new manufacturing process for the structural fairing and subframe.
