Honda Other description

1996 Honda VFR750F RC36

I bought this VFR from the second owner who purchased the bike in 2000, the original owner was also from CT and this has been a local bike all of it's life.  Currently it only has 8,800 miles! The person I bought it from rode it occasionally and it sat most of the time in his garage.  Several years ago, the owner's wife accidentally touched it with her car and cracked the LS fairing (shown in the photos).  The damage is not terrible and certainly does not effect the enjoyment of the bike.  My intention was to make the bike perfect and I found that the mid section is still available from Honda and the upper is no longer in stock but is available on Ebay.  Not a problem!

Upon buying the bike, I cleaned the carbs, and washed the bike.  I also sourced the correct seat cover fastening screws, seat blanks and body panel bolts/grommets and miscellaneous o-rings from Honda. That's it!  Two weekends ago I took it up to the Catskills for a shake down run and it ran, handled and stopped perfectly, just like new. The suspension is firm, the bike runs and idles great and the brakes stop on a dime.  Everything works as it should, gauges, clock, lights, etc...

The Honda is as clean under the bodywork as it is on top.  Even the oil is clean! See the pictures.

This VFR only has 8,800 original miles and it runs and rides like a new motorcycle.  Most enthusiasts agree that the RC36 series of VFR Hondas are one of the best motorcycle ever made and I would have to agree, it runs perfectly and the engine, gear driven cams and Two Brother's exhaust make wonderful music.  I bought the bike with the intention of keeping it, but taxes are coming due the first of the year so it has to go.

This VFR750F RC36 has the following:

New Battery
Dunlop Sportmax Tires w/very low miles
RK O-Ring Chain
Two Brother's Aluminum Exhaust
Original Stock Exhaust Canister
Original Rear Seat Grab Rails
4 - Extra Body Grommets p/n 64245-MJ4-670
2 - Extra Baody Grommets p/n 16010-MZ5-920
3 - Extra Body Bolts p/n 90112-MT4-0000
3 - Extra Body Pins p/n 90683-GR1-003
2 - Seat Blanks p/n 77220-MBG-000
Original Tool Kit
Original Lug Wrench
Original Spark Plug Wrench
Original Honda Owner's Manual
Clymer Service Manual

There a few minor nicks in the paint and on the wheel rims, really nothing major.

If you are looking for a really nice example of an RC36 this has got to be one of the nicest out there. Just a great motorcycle to ride and enjoy, or if you're a collector this one is perfect for you.

Even though this VFR750F is in excellent condition, it is being sold as-is, no warranty expressed or implied.  I will accept Pay Pal (if you agree to pay their fees!), wire transfer, check and of course, cash.  I will forward the CT title to the buyer upon receipt and clearing of the funds and will not release the motorcycle until the funds have cleared my bank. I will assist in shipping, both nationally and internationally as best as I can.  Thanks!

Schoolboy Heroes

Fri, 04 Mar 2011

A wet and grey day in Calais in 1992 wouldn’t be the obvious situation for a life changing experience, but for a 11 year old lad on a boring booze cruise from Dover this is exactly what happened. Pockets bulging with funny money I headed to the Tabac for the obligatory bangers, dirty playing cards and some sweets.  Then it happened, I stood in front of the magazine rack and reached up, as if drawn by an external force.  At the time I wasn’t tall enough for Playboy or L’ Escort so settled for a copy of Moto Verte, the French motocross mag.  Life would never be the same again. Inside there was a double page spread, with a fresh faced Jeremy McGrath resting a leg over his #15 Honda CR125.  Sporting a pair of fluro MX trousers with a, now retro, bright white surname emblazoned jersey, and casting an eye over a seriously vast motocross park.  I stared at this Sinisalo advert all the way home, partly because all the articles were in foreign, but also because I was transfixed.  What and how do I become a motocross champion?

Get On Africa: Blog One

Wed, 06 Apr 2011

It's not every day you get to bomb around a field that was set aside for The Pope but that's exactly what we've done this morning; the first proper day of our Get On Africa adventure. We started the morning at the Riders for Health workshop where the mechanics took us through their setup and maintenance program for their bikes. The celebs ran through the basics of bike maintainance, the mechanic boasted that bikes never come back to the workshop broken, they just come in for scheduled servicing.

2014 Pata Honda WSBK and WSS Team Presentation

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

Honda presented its 2014 World Superbike and Supersport team, including the new CBR1000RR SP racebike in a presentation at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona, Italy. Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam are returning in the Pata Honda team colors to ride the CBR1000RR SP in the WSBK class while Michael van der Mark and Lorenzo Zanetti will ride the CBR600RR in the WSS championship. Last season was disappointing for Honda, with both Rea and Haslam missing significant time due to leg injuries.
