Bradl Staying with LCR Honda for 2014 MotoGP Season

The LCR Honda announced Stefan Bradl has signed a one-year contract extension with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) that will see the German rider return with the team for the 2014 MotoGP season. Bradl won the 2012 MotoGP Rookie of the Year award with the LCR Honda squad and currently sits sixth in the 2013 championship standings after earning his first career MotoGP-class podium with a second-place result at Laguna Seca. The 2011 Moto2 champion will continue to receive factory support from HRC while racing for Lucio Cecchinello’s LCR squad.

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. WSBK 2013: Donington Park Race Report

Tom Sykes had an outstanding weekend in front of his home fans, scoring a pair of wins at the World Superbike Championship round at the United Kingdom’s Donington Park. The Kawasaki racer led every session from first qualifying onwards, before leading all 23 laps in both races for the double. The double victory brings Sykes to within 4 points of series leader Sylvain Guintoli who had a decent weekend himself with a pair of podium finishes.
