Up for sale here is our service managers 1985 Honda VF1000R Interceptor Superbike. 21,070 original miles. This bike has been in his family since it was purchased new in 1985. Other than a minor coolant leak and dent in the left side of the fuel tank (from falling over years ago in the driveway against another car), the bike is in good condition. Mechanically the bike is in excellent condition; it has been serviced per Honda's recommended maintenance schedule and includes copies of recent service records. This bike has been used for regular street use. Tread remaining: 50%. Carbs were recently reconditioned / rebuilt, new air filter & spark plugs. Included with the purchase, will also be a factory service manual, owners manual, and original Honda tool-kit. Oregon registration / plates are good to June 2014. This was a limited production motorcycle for Honda - built only for production years 1985 - 1986. It is the flagship of the 1980's V-4 line up. 998cc's, 120 horsepower, and gear driven camshafts. Honda is recalling over 20,000 Shadows in the US

Honda is recalling 22,142 motorcycles from shipments produced between 2010 and 2016. The reason was the vibration from the engine, which over time leads to chafing of the fall sensor wire in the common harness. Dealers promise to move the wire to another location and replace the sensor free of charge.

45,367 Motorcycle Thefts Reported in US in 2013

Americans reported 45,367 stolen motorcycles in 2013, down 1.5% from 2012, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau‘s latest Motorcycle Theft and Recovery Report. According to the NICB motorcycle thefts have been on the decline every year since 2007 when 65,678 motorcycles were reported stolen, though the overall trend appears to be leveling off. Japanese motorcycles continue to be the most popular target for thieves.

Results From Day 1 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island

Eugene Laverty, aboard his Voltcom Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000, led the field today as the first day of World Superbike testing got underway at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia, site of the first race of the 2014 season. Under sunny skies and perfect weather conditions, Laverty adapted quickly to his new ride after spending last season aboard the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. The Suzuki offered incredible feedback and allowed him to push right out of the gates, ultimately setting a fastest lap time of 1:30.513.
