Honda CB description

This bike was built to be unveiled at The One Motorcycle Show 2013 in Portland, OR and is displayed in their accompanying documentary.  It has since been featured on Bike EXIF and has made an appearance the The One Motorcycle Show in Austin, TX as well.  This is a full custom build from the ground up built with the attitude of an urban pothole jumper.  I call it an Urban Tracker.  For the build, it was completely stripped down the smallest nut and bolt.  The frame was cleaned, de-tabbed, and powdercoated.  At the same time, every piece of hardware that couldn't be replaced with stainless was treated to a new bright zinc coating.  While waiting for those parts to be done, the motor was disassembled, refinished, and re-assembled with every gasket and seal replaced.  I fabricated a custom aluminum mount for the CBR600 front brake caliper, built a fiberglass seat pan for New Church Moto to upholster, and had the tank and side covers painted flat white with Digital logos.  There is a also an aluminum battery tray that suspends a Ballistic Lithium Ion battery and modern regulator/rectifier.  Upon final assembly she got a Renthal Fatbar, Tarozzi fork brace, Mikuni carbs, and XR600 front fairing and headlight.  Of course, it wouldn't be complete with a Lossa Engineering exhaust cone and Motofactory rear brake stay.  The crown jewels are my scratch built wiring harness and RFID keyless ignition.  A swipe of the key fob in just the right place and she comes to life.

If there's anything I learned in my three years as Jay LaRossa's right hand man at Lossa Engineering it's how to build a clean bike.  This bike is "eat off of it" clean.  Not a spot of rust or a speck of dirt.  You won't find any miscellaneous "cafe trinkets" or "just for show" parts.  If it doesn't serve a purpose, it's not on the bike.  I hope you enjoy riding it as much as I enjoyed building it.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ:
Although this motorcycle is completely rebuilt, it is still a vintage motorcycle and as such requires a certain amount of mechanical skill to maintain.  Please do not bid if you are unfamiliar with owning and operating a vintage motorcycle or do not have access to someone who is.  If you do not have an understanding of kickstarting, using the choke, warming up the engine, clearing a flooded engine, fouled spark plugs, etc., this is not the bike for you.

Frog eBike – the Electric Successor to 1985 Frog FZ750 Concept

Tue, 03 Apr 2012

San Francisco-based Frog Design released images of a new electric motorcycle concept, just as its influential Yamaha FZ750-based Rana concept gets enshrined at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Frog designer Jin Soek Hwang prepared the Frog eBike concept as an expression of how electric motor technology can influence motorcycle design. In a post on Frog’s blog, the designer says he was inspired in part by Frog’s 1985 FZ750 Rana concept (pictured after the jump).

Honda is recalling over 20,000 Shadows in the US

Fri, 29 Jan 2016

Honda is recalling 22,142 motorcycles from shipments produced between 2010 and 2016. The reason was the vibration from the engine, which over time leads to chafing of the fall sensor wire in the common harness. Dealers promise to move the wire to another location and replace the sensor free of charge.
