Harley-Davidson Softail description

2006 Harley Davidson Softail Springer

Last year for the stock CHROME front end!!

Only 6,903 miles

You are looking at my Softail Springer.  Hate to see it go, it's brought me a lot of fun and always got me home safe but it's time to move on.  I bought this bike in March 2010 with 2,100 miles on it.  All I wanted was a "Springer", even though it was purple and silver I had to have it.  The same day I brought it home, it was taken apart and the tins were sent for a fresh coat of vivid black, because there is no color other than black and chrome!  The emblems on the tank are what you'd find on a street glide, I just liked the look of them.  ( I included a picture of how it looked when I bought it with the silver and purple paint just so you can see how far it has come, but the bike is now black).  This bike is beautiful and has been garage kept and babied since the day I bought it.  Among thousands of dollars in paint, accessories and aftermarket parts, a few are:  16" Wild 1 Chubby's Ape's with the factory risers and stainless braided lines...a lot of people ask if they're comfortable and also what I think of the Springer front end.  As far as the the Ape's, they're a perfect height, i'll never own another bike without them.  That pain you get between your shoulder blades and neck after riding with regular bars...that's gone.  As far as the Springer front end, I've owned or riden almost every model that Harley Davidson makes, these Springer front ends of today aren't like they use to be, if you couldn't see the springs compress when you hit a bump you wouldn't know it was a Springer.  Vance & Hines "Long Shots", Custom made sissy bar, the bike also has a Forcewinder Intake and Power Commander 5.  The Ape's, intake and Power Commander were all professionally installed and the bike has been dynoed and runs perfect! Rear tire was new last year and probly has around 400 miles on it.  Front tire was new this year and has about 200 miles on it.  Transmission, primary and engine oil were all changed this spring.  Brakes are in good shape, the bike is ready to ride.  Saw today while I was taking pictures that the inspection was up in September but it doesn't need anything to pass inspection.  If you have any questions feel free to ask!  Clear title in hand.  Bike is sold as is, no warranty.  Serious bidders only please!

Of course, if you’ve been following Motorcycle.com for a while you’ll have known this already, as we brought you the scoop about Livewire.

Dodge City 300 Looking To Celebrate Centennial Anniversary In 2014

In 1914 the city of Dodge City, Kansas held a motorcycle race, the Dodge City 300, attracting over 17,000 spectators. By 1921 there were more than 20,000. The race was held on a two-mile dirt oval and was sanctioned by the FAM (Federation of American Motorcyclists).

Gymnast on a Harley….Wow.

Mon, 23 Mar 2009

What happens when you take away a smokin’ hot gymnast’s balance beam and replace it with a Harley-Davidson Fat Bob? It’s only 30 seconds but who’s to stop you from playing it over and over again? Now what would be even more amazing is if there was a dude riding that bike on the highway while she did that.  What would be a million times more amazing would be if that dude was me.
