1974 BMW R90/6 with Dneper sidecar - Recently tuned and replaced alternator rotor and battery. Customer is getting on in years and just doesn't ride enough to keep it. This is a very nice older rig we built about 10 years ago. The odometer doesn't work, but we have kept track of the mileage. It is approximately 54,000. Oil has been changed regularly and tune ups about every 1 1/2 years. The triple trees have been upgraded to Perry's sidecar triple tree. It has a steering dampner from bike to sidecar. This rig is ready to go just about anywhere. If you are local, or you want to fly in from out of State and have not driven a sidecar rig before, we will give you sidecar lessons. 2015 BMW S1000XR Spied – Inline-Four Multistrada Rival on the Way
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Spy photographers have captured a new BMW adventure-tourer powered by the S1000RR’s Inline-Four engine. The new model, which we expect will be called the 2015 BMW S1000XR, will be more road-oriented than the company’s bread-and-butter GS line, offering a competitor to the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 or the recently reviewed Aprilia Caponord 1200. Other publications that have published the spy photos (Insella.it and MotorcyclistOnline for example) have put forward names such as S1000F or S1000 ADV for the new model, but a trademark application BMW filed with the USPTO suggests it may be introduced as the “S1000XR”.

The landmark liquid-cooled 2014 R1200GS follows a lineage half a million strong of flat-twin adventure tourers tracing back to the first R80G/S produced in 1980. “As a plant it is a privilege for us to continue building on the successful history of the legendary flat-twin GS,” says Marc Sielemann, head of the Berlin plant which produces the bulk of BMW’s motorcycles since 1969.
BMW “Persistent Erection” Lawsuit Dismissed
Tue, 18 Mar 2014The Superior Court of San Francisco has dismissed lawsuits against BMW and Corbin-Pacific Inc. brought on by a man who claimed a motorcycle ride gave him an erection that lasted for several months. The story made headlines and drew much ridicule after the man said vibrations from his 1993 BMW K1100RS and Corbin aftermarket seat resulted in a case of priapism, a condition in which a penis remains erect for a prolonged period of time.
BMW Recalls 4,453 Motorcycles and Scooters for Side Stand Switch Problem
Thu, 13 Mar 2014BMW has initiated a recall on several motorcycle and scooter models because of a problem with the side stand switches failing in wet conditions. The recall affects 4,453 vehicles from the 2013 model year including the C600 Sport and C650GT scooters, F700GS, F800GS, F800GS Adventure, F800GT, R1200R and R1200GS. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, water may enter the side stand switch on affected vehicles from riding in wet conditions or even from vigorous washing.

BMW Sets February Sales Record With 18.3% Growth

The German manufacturer reported sales of 8,098 motorcycles and scooters in February, an impressive 18.3% increase over the 6,847 units sold in the same month last year. The record February followed another record in January which saw a year-on-year increase of 12.9%.

Built in 1918, the historic site in the Milbertshofen district of Munich, Germany, housed BMW’s original aircraft engine production plant.
