BMW K-Series description

This is a 1998 K1200RS in the highly desired yellow checkered board color configuration.  I bought this motorcycle a few years ago with only 660 miles on it.  It has less that 19,000 miles now and it has been meticulously maintained and always kept in a garage.

The motorcycle was recently serviced a few months ago and had the following work performed.
·         EBC HH brake pads installed in front
·         Brake and clutch fluid replaced
·         Radiator flushed and refilled
·
Factory options include:
BMW Hard luggage bags keyed to ignition.  Left bag works but has some cracks
BMW tank bag
BMW bar risers (not installed in a box)
BMW foot peg lowers (not installed in a box)
BMW luggage rack installed
After marker halogen lights installed under fairing

Back in the eighties and early nineties if you wanted racing success in the Supersport class Avon tyres would be your most likely weapon of choice.

BMW HP4 Gets New ABS that Works in Corners

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

BMW has developed a new anti-lock braking system designed to work when a motorcycle is leaned over into a corner. The new ABS Pro system will initially be offered as a retrofit upgrade on the BMW HP4 sportbike, but it’s likely only a matter of time before the technology becomes available on other models. The ABS Pro uses the same sensors already employed by BMW’s Dynamic Traction Control and Dynamic Damping Control electronic suspension, both of which are already available on the HP4.

BMW and Husqvarna to Unveil Concept Models at Frankfurt Auto Show

Fri, 02 Sep 2011

BMW will unveil an electric scooter concept model and an entry level Husqvarna streetbike concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. The BMW concept, shown in the teaser sketch above, will likely be a version of the E-Scooter electric maxiscooter concept announced in July. BMW claimed the E-Scooter’s liquid-cooled electric motor offers performance similar to a 600cc combustion engine, while the battery casing itself will form the body of the frame.
