Aprilia TUONO description

2013 Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC, $13,999!!! no that's not a typo..you can own a fire breathing V4 superbike at the price of some of its smaller siblings...pluss you get the full APRC electronics safety package...quick shifter...should i go on??Tuono V4 boasts more power than ever seen before in a naked, achieved by reconfiguring the V4 engine of the RSV4 to make it better suited to street use.The features inherited by the Tuono V4 from the RSV4 include the exhaust system with bypass valve, which is two kilos lighter than the system used on the RSV4 R, and latest generation Ride by Wire throttle control with three rider-selectable maps (Track, Sport and Road). With its 65 V4 engine brazenly flaunted and framed by the brushed aluminum twin spar frame, the Tuono V4 is a naked clad only with the bare minimum necessary to let you saddle up and teach it to respond to your will. Adding yet another touch of aggressiveness is the aerodynamic top fairing tipped with two polyelliptical headlights and LED indicators at the sharp end, which gives the bike the unequivocally mean, daunting stare that you'd expect from a machine with an incredible 167.3 horsepower.

Aprilia has updated its Tuono V4 R for 2014, equipping the naked sportbike with anti-lock brakes, enlarging the fuel tank and pumping more horses from its 1000cc V4 engine. The Aprilia Tuono was already a favorite here at Motorcycle.com, and the latest updates should only reinforce that opinion. The Bosch 9MP ABS adds a degree of safety while only adding 4.4 pounds to the Tuono’s weight.

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.

WSBK 2012: Assen Results

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick.
