Aprilia Other description
The Tuono is NOTHING like any of your other motorcycles. The Tuono V4-R is not a "good" motorcycle; it is among the best motorcycles ever made. The Tuono V4-R will convince you that a fuel injected motorcycle can still have character, still have soul, and most of all, be fun to ride in all conditions. From the World Superbike derived frame, swingarm, and engine, the Tuono V4-R makes no excuses when it comes to performance. This is not a muted version of the RSV4 power plant- It is the RSV4 powerplant. Though the Tuono handles fueling with four fewer injectors than the RSV4 (the Tuono does not have shower injection), the dyno numbers for horsepower and torque between the two models are nearly identical. The Tuono V4-R also get's Aprilia's industry leading Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system. This multi-tiered system not only offers smoothed traction control intervention (no harsh cuts!), but also offers Wheelie Control and Launch Control, all with various settings depending on rider preferences or road conditions.

Three-Time World Champion Wayne Rainey Honored At Quail Motorcycle Gathering
Thu, 09 May 2013Saturday, May 4 marked the 5th annual Quail Motorcycle Gathering in Carmel, California. With such a diverse collection of historical, rare and outrageous motorcycles, the Quail is an event we thoroughly enjoyed attending last year. To commemorate the occasion, this year’s guest of honor was none other than three-time 500cc Grand Prix world champion, and local area resident, Wayne Rainey.
Pikes Peak 87th Annual International Hill Climb [pics and video]
Fri, 15 May 2009Named after a man by the name of Zebulon Pike, an explorer who led an expedition to the area in 1806, Pikes Peak is home to the second oldest motorsports race in America second only to the Indianapolis 500. First completed in 1916, this year marks the 87th running of the “Race to the Clouds.” If the math doesn’t add up, this is because there were several years that the event did not run over the course of its 93 year history. The 12.4 mile trek up the mountain consists of 156 treacherous turns to an elevation of 14,110 feet.
Aprilia Reportedly Developing 250cc Sportbike
Mon, 25 Feb 2013For a company with such a rich history in motorcycle racing including nine World Championships in the 250cc Grand Prix category, it comes as a bit of a surprise Aprilia does not already have a 250cc sportbike in production. From 1994 to 2007, Aprilia won nine 250cc Grand Prix championships with an impressive roster of riders which includes Valentino Rossi, Max Biaggi, Jorge Lorenzo, Loris Capirossi and Marco Melandri winning titles. Despite making a name for itself racing in the 250cc class, Aprilia does not have a 250cc production sportbike to compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 250 (and its replacement, the Ninja 300) or the Honda CBR250R.
