After a successful 2013 campaign in the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, where Honda’s own Jeff Tigert won the Pikes Peak 450 class and set a new record, Honda is stepping up its involvement for 2014, as both a sponsor and race participant, with plans to field products in seven distinct race classes. In addition, Honda will be working with the AMA and the Pikes Peak sanctioning body on improvements which will provide new levels of safety to the Motorcycle / ATV / UTV / Sidecar competitors. 2014 Honda CBR300R Specs Revealed

Specifications for the 2014 Honda CBR300R have surfaced from CIMAMotor in Chongqing, China, where the new small-displacement sportsbike made its debut. Join the CBR 300 Forum According to the spec sheet, will be powered by a fuel-injected 286cc single-cylinder engine, with a bore of 76mm and 63mm stroke. Based on this, we surmise the engine is indeed based on the CBR250R’s engine which has a similar 76mm bore, but with a 55mm stroke.

Hometown hero Ryan Dungey put a stop to Ryan Villopoto‘s winning streak, taking the victory before 48,846 supportive fans at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. The Red Bull KTM rider from nearby Belle Plaine, Minn., stalked Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Villopoto for most of the race before taking the lead and winning the 20-lap race by just 0.903 seconds. The win put Dungey into second place in the standings ahead of Rockstar Suzuki‘s Davi Millsaps and perhaps more importantly, cut away at Villopoto’s points lead.
