Honda CB description

Rare Opportunity!

This is a 1983 (only year available in the USA) CB1100F.  This bike was in storage for an extended period of time but has been recomissioned and is ready to be enjoyed.  Because of the bike's rarity, they have been appreciating rapidly since they really are the best of the CB series Honda brought into the USA.  This is the Blue/White US version as shown in the pictures.  The original pipes did have the baffles removed but the black chrome is in reasonable shape.  Has an aftermarket storage rack fitted which is very sturdy and makes the bike more useful for the longer trips.  Ready to be enjoyed by the next owner, shipping can be arranged but costs are for the buyer, I can deliver within 100 miles for $50.  I will also be at Barber Motorsports Park in October and could take the bike there too.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

Kenny Roberts Motorcycle Collection Up For Sale

Wed, 25 Apr 2012

Motorcycling legend Kenny Roberts has commissioned RMD Motors to auction off some rare and exclusive motorcycles from his collection, presumably to make room for more. The Japan-based company is known the world over for its collection of rare and classic motorcycles for sale, many of which are retired grand prix machines fortunate enough to escape the fate of most decommissioned racebikes: the crusher.  Headlining the Roberts collection is the 2004 Proton KRV5 originally ridden by Kurtis Roberts, King Kenny’s youngest son. The five-cylinder grand prix machine never achieved much success on the world stage, but will easily make you the center of attention at your local trackday.
