1974 Harley Davidson FX Shovelhead
Purchased in 1996. Bike rebuilt in 2003. Engine rebuilt, now has 3,500 miles on it. Andrews C Grind Cam and S&S Carberator and Fatbob gas tanks installed. Also changed to 21 inch front wheel and a more modern rear brake was added. Progressive rear shocks and progressive spring kit in the front forks. Chrome wheels with polished stainless steel spokes. Belt drive primary. It is electric and kick start. Lots of chrome, all painted surfaces are custom powder coated. Garage kept and well maintained. This motorcycle has never been in an accident and title is in hand. Buyer to pick up or arrange for transportation. Payment prior to pick up. Cash in hand or certified check. US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
Arlen Ness B-Day Bash At Petersen Museum

The B-day celebration will be followed by a V-Twin Cruise-In on July 13 and punctuated by a summer-long exhibit entitled Arlen Ness: Art on Two Wheels. The July 12th birthday party is open to the public and the $95 ticket price puts you in the company of Arlen and other customizing aristocrats and also includes cocktails and dinner.

Mon, 02 Feb 2009While at the time, most of the attention was on President Barack Obama, motorcycle enthusiasts would have surely noticed the one-of-a-kind 2009 Harley-Davidson Police concept Tri-Glide Ultra Classic which led the inauguration parade to the White House on January 20th. Lieutenant Scott Fear, Commander of the U.S. Park Police Motor Unit, led a dozen side car-equipped Electra Glides in a formation riding the heavily modified Trike, which was sourced by Harley-Davidson of Frederick.
