BMW R100RT in pearl white with tri color pin striping. Produced on 2-14-1984.Only 200 of these rare models were manufactured. Exactly 11,000 original miles. Tires 80%. Includes original panniers, original tool kit, keyed cable lock and owners manual. Nearly new Corbin deluxe seat with backrest is fitted but I also have the original seat. Comes equipped with Brown side stand, stainless steel brake lines and Garmin Nuvi GPS permanently wired to battery with mounting bracket. Paperwork includes original sales receipt, letter from BMW announcing the "Last Edition" series of motorcycles and manufacturer's certificate from BMW Archives. Recent service includes oil/filter change and transmission input shaft spline lube service. Ride it anywhere. Located in southern Illinois. Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show
Mon, 28 Sep 2009Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
WSBK: 2012 Moscow Results
Mon, 27 Aug 2012The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.
