BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
25 year owner. This bike was restored 10 years ago. Like most, it's a one kick start bike. Engine has been gone through, with lower end checking out fine, valve job done with slingers cleaned. Transmission redone with new bearings and seals.
12V conversion, H-4 headlight plus GM points plate installed. Frame and swing arms powder coated. All chrome items replated. Stainless and white cadmium fasteners. New cables and all rubber parts replaced. New rims with stainless spokes. All chassis bearings replaced. European bars with Hella signals. Rear fender was repainted and hand striped. The rest of the paint is in very nice condition. Bike has matching numbers. The bike has scuffs on the right tailpipe and right valve cover. The air cleaner cover has a cable rub. The tank has a hard to see stone chip indent. It's just to the right of the reflection of my finger nail. See photos. There is a very shallow almost imperceptible dimple on the left side of the gas tank between the BMW emblem the knee rubber that I can't make appear in my photos. Lastly, the right carb drips occasionally after shut down. Contact me for more photos or questions. |

Please BMW: don't build this
Wed, 05 Aug 2009BMW have taken a rapid step in the right direction, what with their K1300S, S1000RR and F800R. Recently rumours have been flying around that BMW are to produce a scooter, possibly a hybrid. And while we know it's well within their means, we'd rather they concentrated on the sharpening the cutting edge of road bikes.
