2nd Owner of this bike, I have owned it for 6 years. Never been off road since I have owned it. It runs great! It has not been restored, its original except for the handle bars and rear fender which were bought new OEM. I had the steering stem bearings replaced, and the carb was cleaned and tuned by a certified motorcycle mechanic. Bike has very low hours on it, about 10-15. I have put new decals on the radiator and I have a replacement seat cover (the pic shows a small tear in the seat). Originally bought for a show bike, ran out of time. Yamaha Reports Q3 2012 Results
Tue, 06 Nov 2012Yamaha‘s North American sales were up over the first nine months of 2012, representing the lone bright spot in the company’s third quarter report. North American consumers purchased 51,000 Yamaha motorcycles (including scooters and ATVs), for a 13.3% increase from the 45,000 units sold in the opening nine months of 2011. North American sales translated into 30.7 million yen (US$382 million) in revenue for Yamaha, a 15.0% increase from the first three quarters of 2011.
Yamaha Quitting World Superbike Racing After 2011 Season
Mon, 01 Aug 2011Yamaha announced it is withdrawing its factory World Superbike Championship race team following the end of the 2011 season. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, just a week after reports the team had re-signed racer Marco Melandri for the 2012 season. On the other hand, the team has struggled to find a title sponsor this season, as has Yamaha’s MotoGP team.
