2000 Yamaha TT-R125, PERFECT FIRST DIRTBIKE - Little brother to 125L, the TT-R125 has slightly smaller wheels and tires, thus able to fit shorter riders. All-new motorcycle for the off-road rider, and little brother to the 125L, the TT-R125 has slightly smaller wheels and tires, thus able to fit shorter riders. It features a torquey 124cc air-cooled, four-stroke engine. * Five-speed transmission with manual clutch is geared for precise power delivery. * CD ignition keeps maintenance to a minimum. * Telescopic fork with 7.1" of travel and single rear shock with 6.3" of travel soak up the rough stuff and provide great off-road handling. * Drum brakes front and rear. *Seat height is 30.1." * Knobby tires, 17" front and 14" rear, provide good off-road grip. The trendiest segment in the industry at the moment is the adventure touring motorcycle. Spearheaded by the top-selling BMW R1200GS, the segment has seen a flood of imitators such as the Triumph Tiger Explorer, Yamaha Super Ténéré and the Honda Crosstourer. A recent report from the Motorcycle Industry Council found that scooter sales are also on the rise in the U.S., spurred on by soaring gas prices.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Daytona Results

James Stewart gave his 2012 AMA Supercross championship hopes a much needed boost with a big win in sloppy, muddy conditions at Daytona International Speedway. Heavy rains made the Ricky Carmichael-designed track in Daytona’s tri-oval section even more difficult than the GOAT conceived, with the terrain rough, choppy and rutted. Series point leader Ryan Villopoto became an early casualty of the track conditions, sliding outon the second corner.

This is the white and gold 2012 Yamaha R1. It's also the bike I shall be commuting on for the next 8 months. The crouched riding position and murderous amounts of power may not be ideally suited for the London grind, but with plenty of track action planned I have to make some compromises.
