Yamaha Virago description
2007 YAMAHA VIRAGO 250, *** TERRIFIC AS A STARTER BIKE, AN AROUND TOWN RUNNER, OR EVEN AS A SECOND RIDE *** Plenty of "kick-butt" power in this feature-packed lightweight cruiser! It has great balance due to a low riding position. Handles well with easy maneuverability in tight spaces. The Virago is smaller sized but you would only know this up close. From a short distance away, it is easily mistaken for a Harley due to big bike cruiser looks with raked front end and plenty of chrome. I bought this to use for a few months while working in NY and it proved to be a great fill-in until I could get back to my larger cruiser. Honestly, I'm very tempted to keep it but a full garage forces a sell. In the last several months, I've gone over the bike making sure all is well fixing any worn wiring and controls. I've added about $360 in leatherworks to it with brand new windshield bag, studded large saddle bags with quick close Velcro tops, and a large duffle style sissy bag. The leatherworks really serve to complete "the look" of this compact but mighty ride. Japan Needs Your Help
Thu, 17 Mar 2011By now, we’ve all seen pictures and video of the devastation in Japan following the March 11 earthquake and the ensuing tsunamis. Japan, of course, has contributed much to motorcycling, with the Big Four of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, as well as tire manufacturer Bridgestone, helmet companies Arai and Shoei and many other motorcycle industry stalwarts all coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. Jon Bekefy and Greg Hatton, two motorcycle enthusiasts, industry employees and above all, humanitarians, have set up a fundraising campaign benefiting the Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.
The Japanese oddity to naming teams
Wed, 28 Jul 2010Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. Day 2 Dakar 2014: Sunderland Wins First Special Stage
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Honda won the second day of competition with Team HRC’s Sam Sunderland claiming victory in the first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Sunderland has had a frustrating time at previous Dakars, dropping out after three days of racing in 2012 and withdrawing a month before last year’s event due to fracturing both his wrists. Today, however, Sunderland made a grand entrance into the club of elite riders by brilliantly winning his first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Having started well behind his teammate, Joan Barreda, the 23-year old Brit superbly overtook Michael Metge and Juan Pedrero on the first part of the route.
