Doriano Romboni Killed in Simoncelli Memorial Benefit Race
Mon, 02 Dec 2013Retired Grand Prix racer Doriano Romboni suffered fatal injuries in a crash during practice for benefit race in memory of Marco Simoncelli. Romboni, 44, reportedly lost control during the second practice session at the second-annual Sic Supermoto Day, running into the grass before swerving back onto the track and into the path of Gianluca Vizziello. Romboni was air-lifted to Santa Maria Goretti hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Polaris/Victory Donate $154,125 to Wounded Warrior Project
Tue, 21 Aug 2012As part of its annual summer sales meeting and its presence at the SturgisMotorcycle Rally, Polaris Industries Inc., Victory Motorcycles, and the Companys dealers donated $154,125 to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). The donation was part of Polaris continuing relationship with the WWP, an organization that raises awareness and aids injured servicemen and women. Earlier this year, Polaris also gave away three special, blacked-out RANGER RZRXP4 900 side-by-side vehicles to WWP veterans.
Victory Strengthens Sponsorship of Bellator MMA
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Victory Motorcycles has taken a page out of Harley-Davidson‘s marketing playbook, signing a new sponsorship agreement with Bellator MMA, and becoming the mixed martial arts promotion’s official motorcycle brand. The partnership is similar to Harley-Davidson’s arrangement with Bellator’s chief competitor, the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The two brands started their relationship last August with some cross promotion including branding the walkway to the cage as “Victory Lane.” Beginning with the premiere of Bellator’s tenth season on Feb.
