Honda Shadow tech info
Honda Shadow description
|
I have a 1983 Honda Shadow vt500c (500cc) for sale. The bike runs well,
lots of power. Brand new air filter, front and rear tires and tubes,
battery. The bike starts up great with an electric starter, it takes
regular gas, and an optional plexiglass ferring is included if desired.
There is small inch long split in the seats seam (not noticeable).
Before the bike is fully warmed up, 1st gear requires high rpms, and there is a slight jump between mid and full throttle. After the bike warms up, this hiccup disappears. This is a relatively minor issue and would probably be fixed with more driving, or a simple carb clean according to my mechanic. I recently had a local bike shop perform a checkup during the new tire installations and this was the only issue they noted. I installed a new horn, and turn signal mounts (these wear out on older bikes). Need to get rid of the bike due to wife's demands. :) All blinkers, horns, brake lights, startup, shifters, brakes, etc... in good working order. The bike also has a cruise control feature built in to the throttle. The Honda shadow is shaft driven, like many BMWs, this means you don't need to deal with chain maintenance. The bike can seat two people if desired, with retractable foot-pegs for the back seat. A motorcycle helmet and trickle charger is included if needed. Great first bike! Local pickup only. |

honda design book
Thu, 17 Dec 2009Those of you with a penchant for coffee table books will love this little gem from Japan. Honda Design 1957-1984 does exactly what it says on the tin and allows us an insight to the work behind many of our favourite motorcycles. Sketches, pre-production drawings and plenty of retro pictures of a golden era.
Little brother: Honda introduced a "nano version" of the X-ADV scooter
Sun, 11 Aug 2019The model is called ADV 150 and, despite its similarity with the X, it has nothing to do with it. The engine is a single-cylinder with a volume of 149.3 "cubes", developing 14.2 hp at 8500 rpm and 13.8 Nm at 6500 rpm. Suspension is a regular telescopic fork and two Showa rear shocks.
