Honda CB description

1973 HONDA CB450  6,712 miles

This ORIGINAL bike is complete and in good condition.
I purchased this bike to restore.  Too many projects to work on at this time.  Bike has been garage kept.  The bike is totally original including the tires. The tires hold air, but will need to be replaced due to dry rot prior to riding or safety inspection.
There is a small dent in the right side of fuel tank and a few light dings from normal wear. The chrome is  great looking with minor pitting in a few areas. There are no signs of the bike being damaged other than the dent in tank.  Light rust, but not a deal breaker.

The bike will not start, however it has great compression.  I had it running several years ago, could be the coil not sure.  Master cyclinder for front brake needs overhaul.  Steering stem bushing are worn and need replaced.  Plastic over gear indicator light is missing.  Other than that, it would’nt  take much to get this great vintage bike back on the street again.
Price reflects work that needs to be done.  Will consider delivery in New York area for expense. Clear title. Thanks for looking.

The Honda Collection Halls in Motegi

Fri, 14 Oct 2011

I thought you may have to be from a certain era to enjoy the Honda Collection Halls in Motegi but I was wrong. This immaculate museum has hundreds of race and road bikes on display starting with the first ever (wooden) motorcycle built right up to the amazing machines Pedrosa and co are campaigning this year. Being part of the Honda owned Motegi Twin Ring circuit complex, I was expecting it to be a Honda only zone so was amazed to see lots of iconic bikes from other manufacturers also on display.

Honda Announces 400cc Version of 500-Series Engine

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Honda has revealed a new, smaller-displacement variation of the 470cc parallel-twin engine introduced on its new CBR500, CB500F and CB500X models. The new engine has a bore of 67mm, just like Honda‘s 500-series engine, but a stroke of 56.6mm instead of the longer 66.8mm. The result is an engine displacement of 399cc, which makes the new engine a better fit for markets such as Japan license restrictions are much stricter for engines larger than 400cc.
