"The entire line of Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycles received updated frames for the 2009 model year, and the 2009 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic is also the recipient of an updated exhaust system and cast-aluminum wheels, as well. The 2009 Electra Glide Classic retains its 96-cubic inch V-twin engine, but sports revised suspension via the fork and shocks, and has a new isolated drive system to reduce vibration throughout the engine's power band.

Harley Davidson retained the tried-and-true 96 cubic inch air cooled V-twin engine for the 2009 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic, as well as the six-speed transmission and chain drive system.
