Ducati Supersport description

2004 Ducati 1100SS Supersport Race Bike (my backup bike). This bike is loaded with all of the high-end, go-fast race bits that you would want on a Lightweight Ducati race bike.  Started life as a 1000SS, but we installed a Monster 1100 motor last year (the 1100 motor only had 6500 street miles on it).  The bike has only been on track for 5 or 6 practice sessions since the 1100 motor was installed, the 1100 motor has not been raced because I've been racing my "A" bike (The Beast!).  I put the rain tires on there 4 months ago since it looked like it was going to rain when we were at Homestead, but thankfully it never did rain.

Key features of the bike include: M1100 engine, Microtec ECU, Yoyodyne Slipper Clutch, Ohlins suspension front and rear (set up by Thermosman and dialed in by Greg Melka), Ohlins Damper, IMA Offset Triple Clamps, ETI Fuel Cell Kevlar Gas Tank, Dymag Magnesium Front Wheel, Brembo Billet Clutch Master Cylinder, Brembo RCS Front Brake Master Cylinder, Custom Under-Tail Exhaust w/ Carbon Fiber Muffler, Woodcraft Billet Clipons & Footpegs, Ballistic Battery, Custom Wire Harness, 1098 Superbike Upper & Lower Fairings, Sharkskinz Supersport Tail Fairing w/ Crankcase Breather Box plumbed underneath the tail....the list goes on, no doubt there's things I'm forgetting.  The frame that's on the bike now is actually an 800SS frame that has had the tail section chopped off to accomodate the under-tail exhaust, that frame comes with a non-repairable certificate.  Also included is the original 1000SS frame with clean title.  Also included with the bike is a full set of rear sprockets (I think we have all rear sprockets from 37T to 42T).  The rain tires will be removed before the bike is picked up, we'll throw a used set of slicks on there.

The bike is also for sale locally, hence we reserve the right to end the auction early if the bike sells locally. If you are a 0 feedback bidder please email us before placing your bid, if you don't email us prior to bidding your bid will be cancelled.

PAYMENT

Winning bidder is required to make a $500.00 non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction closing.  The remaining balance must be paid in full within 7 days of auction close either by certified funds, bank wire transfer or cash at the time of pick up.  Please make sure that financing is arranged and that the funds to cover the bid amount are available within the time limits stated prior to placing a bid.  Non-paying bidders will not be tolerated and will be reported to eBay.  We do not accept any forms of payment other than those listed above.

ALL FUNDS WILL HAVE TO CLEAR THE BANK PRIOR TO ANY VEHICLE BEING RELEASED, WHICH CAN TAKE UP TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS. THIS INCLUDES CASHIERS CHECKS. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Ducati Restructures Presence in India, Cutting Ties with Distributor Precision Motor

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Ducati announced it is ending its relationship with importer Precision Motor and setting up its own operations in India. Precision Motors has been Ducati’s official importer since 2008, but the relationship has soured recently with reports of poor customer service and delays in deliveries. Ducati will now begin establishing its own dealer network in India, likely relying on the resources of parent company Audi and other Volkswagen Group brands.

Troy Bayliss and Ernesto Marinelli on the Ducati 1199 Panigale [Video]

Tue, 22 Nov 2011

Three-time World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss and Ducati Superbike Project Director Ernesto Marinelli sat down together to talk about the new Ducati 1199 Panigale in a new video released by the Bologna manufacturer. The video was shot in a split screen format with the two men answering questions about Ducati‘s new superbike. Of course, the video feature the two lauding superlatives on the 1199, but it does offer some amusing moments such as Bayliss’ “Superquadro” face pictured above and the two men doing their impressions of how the Panigale sounds rocketing down the straight of the Mugello circuit.
