BMW R-Series description

  • 1972 BMW R60/5 "Toaster Tank", Black, 31,000 miles. This is a nice running, unrestored R60/5 (with the exception of new paint on the tank). The bike has no major maintenance issues and has always been stored inside. I am the fourth owner of the bike, having purchased it about 4 years ago. It's a great candidate for a full restoration, but definitely could be used as a daily rider. I ride it on average maybe a half a dozen times per month during the season, and it's always been reliable. I do keep a battery tender on it when not in use. Please email with any questions, I'd be glad to share all I can. I also have additional photos I can send.

Own (what could be) a piece of motorcycling history

Get bidding for what could be a revolutionary motorcycle, as the advert states all you need is, "a fair wedge of ingenuity" to marry together a BMW K75 and the 1.4 diesel engine from a Citroen AX. Thankfully the seller will be able to help with the project: "I have most of the design lodged firmly in my head, and will be more than happy to provide information." With a starting price of £100 and no bids the diesel project bike only has one day left on eBay
