Wazuma V8: The Ferrari Powered Quad

Thu, 26 Dec 2013

What’s $250,000, has four wheels, and is powered by a Ferrari engine? Clearly, if you guessed a Ferrari you’d be wrong. From the crazy minds of French custom car and motorcycle builders, Lazareth, comes this Wazuma V8 quad — yes, quad — with the aforementioned parts.

There’s really no rhyme or reason to the Wazuma, but then again, I have to admit that this is one of the more unique applications of a 3.0-liter Ferrari V8. Lazareth claims horsepower around 250, and an injection system borrowed from two Yamaha YZF-R1s. Power is transferred to the ground via a six-speed sequential gearbox from a BMW M3.

Giant 18-inch wheels wear 285/30-ZR18 front, 315/30-ZR18 rear tires. Behind each wheel lie 324mm brake discs with Brembo calipers. Lazareth claims the Wazuma weighs a tick over 1400 pounds. Considering the exposed, quad-like, riding position and the crazy power to weight ratio, riding this beast sounds completely insane. Sure this isn’t a motorcycle, but I think it’s safe to say those of you who are reading this far would love to take one for a spin.
