Stuck for a gift? Solution No1: KTM merchandise

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

Once upon a time motorcycle manufacturers made and sold one thing: motorcycles. But that's long since changed and these days you can find motorcycle-related versions of virtually any product you can imagine.

So if you're struggling for Christmas gift ideas, we're going to dig out some of the weirdest bike-related gadgets on the market.

First up come the maestros of merchandising, KTM. Armed with a big bucket of orange paint and a slightly twisted sense of humour (at least, we hope that's what it is) the Austrian firm has some of the strangest accessories imaginable.

How about a shower curtain, for instance? And maybe a nice bathrobe to go with it? And why stop in the bathroom? KTM will also sell you a dog bed, lead and bowl, a pair of fluffy dice (or 'Racing Cubes' in KTM-speak).

The kitchen need not be a KTM-free zone, either: the firm's ever-popular KTM Racing Toaster (for those toaster races, presumably) has long been a staple of its merchandise catalogue.

But how are you to show your KTM preferences when you're away from home and naked? With a KTM skin decal of course (no, really, we're not making this up).

Find it all – and much more – at shop.ktm.com

Next up, the zen-guru-masters of the merchandising art, Harley-Davidson... Can they out-weird KTM's offerings?
