MWR Air Filters Claim Amazing Power Improvement

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

From the News That Sounds Too Good To Be True But, Boy, Do We Hope It Is Department, MWR Air Filters wants riders to know that its MWR High Efficiency Air Filters are breaking new ground in air filtration technology. While the company’s name might not be commonplace among performance oriented riders – yet – some pretty big names are using MWR filters even though the company doesn’t pay sponsorship dollars. According to MWR’s press release, “the reigning WSBK champion, Tom Sykes uses MWR Air Filters in his Kawasaki ZX10R.” Also, 17 riders at the Isle of Man TT were running with MWR filters.

Efficient filtration is only one feature offered by MWR High Efficiency Air Filters. The secret sauce is the plate attached to the filter that minimizes airbox turbulence that can blow the atomized fuel away from its target in the throttle body inlet. By minimizing the turbulence, the company says the airflow to each cylinder is equalized for more efficient airflow and easier tuning.

The numbers the company claims are pretty astounding: “MWR High Efficiency Air Filters commonly offer 6–8 HP gains (on models like the Ducati 1199 Panigale, and Suzuki SV 650), all the way up to 12–14HP gains (on models like the Ducati Hypermotard 1100).” A Suzuki SV 650 gaining 6–8 hp from an air filter? Sign us up! The other numbers aren’t bad either.

Clearly we have some research to do on these filters. We will keep you posted.

If you can’t wait to conduct your own research, visit MWR Air Filters on the web.
