2014 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster Teaser Photos

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

The first image of the 2014 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster have emerged online, offering a glimpse of what is expected to be MV’s mid-sized answer to the Ducati Diavel. The Dragster will be the latest model to use MV Agusta’s three-cylinder engine, following the Brutale 800, F3 800, Rivale and Turismo Veloce.

We’ve known since last summer that the Brutale 800 Dragster was coming, thanks to its appearance in certification documents from the California Air Resources Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. MV Agusta also trademarked the name “Dragster” along with a logo for the European market.

And now we have the first look at the tank graphic, thanks to a post on the Motorcycle.com network’s MVAgusta.net forum. Meanwhile, Italian site Moto.it has published a photo of the Dragster’s seat and tail.

Based on its name, the Dragster will share many visual similarities with the Brutale, but will likely offer a lower profile and seating position. Moto.it reports the rear will resemble the Rivale but with a 200mm rear tire. The engine will of course, be the same 798cc Triple, claiming 123 hp and 62 ft-lb. that powers the rest of MV’s 800 family. The Dragster will also come with the Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS) electronics suite which includes selectable ride modes and eight-level traction control.

The Brutale Dragster will likely draw comparisons to the Diavel, but in a smaller package with a lower displacement and a slimmer rear tire than the Ducati’s 240mm fatty. We won’t know for sure until the bike is revealed, likely next month.
