Up for sale is my 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1 with 2,598 miles on it. Yes that is the correct mileage and you will not find a nicer, more complete late model R1 in the entire USA with this low mileage. This bike is in amazing condition and looks like it came off of the showroom floor, there is not one flaw or defect you will be able to find on or with this bike. Only rode when the weather is nice and kept in a climate controlled garage. This motorcycle is better than new because the condition it still like brand new with all of the correct upgrades. The bike is rated at 180hp right from the factory, this one is closer to 195hp with all performance upgrades. A true 200 mph liter-class sport bike. This R1 was properly broken in and oil changed at correct intervals. All maintenance has been performed meticulously on this bike and there is absolutely no track time on it. ** Last Oil change completed on 4/17/16. 46,061 Motorcycles Stolen in US in 2012
Mon, 25 Nov 2013An average of 126 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. every day in 2012, according to a report released by the the National Insurance Crime Bureau. That’s from a total of 46,061 motorcycles reported stolen that year a 1.3% improvement from the 46,667 motorcycles reported stolen in 2011.
Yamaha to Open Plant in Pakistan
Thu, 04 Aug 2011Yamaha is reportedly planning to open a new manufacturing facility in Pakistan. According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Yamaha would invest $150 million in the new 50 acre facility, to be located in Karachi, Pakistan’s main seaport and financial hub. The plant would produce motorcycles for the Pakistani market, as well as models to be exported to other Commonwealth of Independent States nations.
Maybe the Evo class is the future for WSB?
Thu, 05 May 2011Did we see the future of World Superbike racing last weekend at the BSB event? Possibly, but only if everyone is on Evo spec machines in 2012. By setting the 2nd fastest lap in race one and running second for a while in race two, the brilliant Alex Lowes proved that with a good grid position an Evo spec machine can be competitive for part race distance at least.
