Well, we know at least one racer who must be a Cycle World reader, because this past 2001 season he was every bit the dominant force in the 125cc West Regional Supercross series aboard his YZ-F, winning five of eight rounds en route to his second 125 title. Add to that Dirt Rider’s "Bike of the Year," Cycle World’s "Best Motocross Bike 2001," and MXA’s "Bike of the Year" honors. Not bad for a first-year four-stroke machine right out of the crate.

Recreate Rossi’s Corkscrew Pass on Stoner at Laguna Seca with Paper

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

Valentino Rossi‘s career is full of many incredible moments but few are as indelible as the move he made to pass Casey Stoner on the 23rd lap of the 2008 U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. The controversial cut through the famous Corkscrew was arguably the most dramatic moment of the 2008 MotoGP season (and ironically, recreated this year, with Marc Marquez turning the tables on Rossi).

"That's one small step for man..."

Fri, 02 Oct 2009

TO CELEBRATE the 40th anniversary of man's first steps on the moon, Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo will wear an astronaut-style paint job on his helmet at this weekend's Portuguese GP. The Spaniard's lid has been sprayed to look a little like a spaceman's helmet and has Neil Armstrong's immortal words: "That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind" written on the rear. Let's just hope Lorenzo doesn't launch himself this weekend.

2011 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Champion Josh Hayes

Tue, 06 Sep 2011

Josh Hayes has won his second consecutive AMA Superbike title, clinching the championship in a tightly contested Race One at the 2011 season finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The lead changed hands several times before Hayes emerged with the win, his third of the season. The Monster Energy Graves Yamaha R1 rider was consistent all season, finishing with three wins and 12 podium finishes in 14 races, and finishing fourth in the two times he missed the podium.
