Selling bikes from my collection. Photos were taken in my basement as this is where I keep my nicer bikes. Bike was restored to look like the European model. Bike has new aftermarket tank and plastics (one side panel cracked see photo), powdercoated frame, new tires and Sun Rims, fork seals, rental bars and pad, front brake cable, fork boots, kill switch, fuel petcock, muffler stays, grips, air filter, perches and levers, DG pipe and silencer, seat cover, and top end rebuild, chain and sprockets. R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap
Tue, 24 Apr 2012Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
Tommy Hayden to Race 2012 Daytona 200 for Graves Yamaha – Video
Fri, 16 Mar 2012Tommy Hayden has signed on to race in the 2012 Daytona 200 for the Graves Yamaha team as an replacement for injured rider Garrett Gerloff. Gerloff broke his right femur in the first Daytona Sportbike class practice session for the Daytona 200, leaving Yamaha little time to find a replacement. Hayden had raced for Yamaha before, and those old ties reconnected quickly in time for the season opening race.
Yamaha YZF-R1 Returns for 2013 with New Colors
Thu, 13 Sep 2012Yamaha announced new 2013 colors and graphics for its flagship sportbike, the YZF-R1. Beside the three color options, the 2013 Yamaha R1 returns unchanged, after getting a new seven-level traction control system in 2012. The three color options for 2013 are Matte Gray, Rapid Red and Raven, and the Team Yamaha Blue and White.
