Yamaha XT tech info
Yamaha XT description
1984 YAMAHA XT600
shaft, valves, springs, cam chain, tensioner, transmission countershaft, new gaskets, new clutch. Head, cylinder and cases stripped and repainted. Front end rebuilt with new: wheel bearings, steering head bearings, fork seals, rebuilt caliper and new brake pads. New rear brake shoes, swing arm bearings, fenders and side covers. New tires, sprockets, chain and cables. Carburetors have been cleaned and adjusted pretty good. Gas tank is in good shape, it has one dent on the right side, not very noticable. Seat is also in good shape, no major damage. Exhaust headers have been sandblasted and painted. Exhaust pipe and muffler are aftermarket. Muffler has 3 dents. The bike's electrical system runs off of the stator and has the CDI box, rectifier/regulator, start/stop switch and an aftermarket headlight and tail light. There is no battery and the lights only come on when the engine is runing. The bike doesn't have turn signals, brake lights or horn. In order to make it street legal it would need an aftermarket "street legal" kit installed. There is no title but I have the last registration. |

A breath of fresh air
Fri, 09 Nov 2012Dean Benstead's air-powered bike project, O2 Pursuit, which we spoke about a year ago, seems to have come along nicely since. Here's a video of the Australian's rotary air compression-engined Yamaha WR250R being taken out for a spin. Apparently it can hit 87 mph and cover more than 60 miles on a scuba-tankful's worth.
No snow here folks!
Fri, 31 Dec 2010An erratic work schedule combined with a full season of kids racing means, there aren’t many opportunities during the summer months for the Mackenzie family to grab a holiday. Instead, we tend to save our pennies and head off somewhere sunny for Christmas. I love doing this as it shortens the UK winter but more importantly it means I miss the festive frenzy. I do like Christmas, but I hate how everyone gets caught up in the retail madness that kicks off just before Halloween, then has everyone stressed (and skint)before Santa has even hitched up his sleigh.
