All-new motorcycle for the off-road rider, and little brother to the 125L, the TT-R125 has slightly smaller wheels and tires, thus able to fit shorter riders. It features a torquey 124cc air-cooled, four-stroke engine. * Five-speed transmission with manual clutch is geared for precise power delivery. * CD ignition keeps maintenance to a minimum. * Telescopic fork with 7.1 of travel and single rear shock with 6.3 of travel soak up the rough stuff and provide great off-road handling. * Drum brakes front and rear. *Seat height is 30.1. * Knobby tires, 17 front and 14 rear, provide good off-road grip. In the latest video, Yamaha factory riders Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies, and Monster Tech 3 satellite riders Colin Edwards and Cal Crutchlow are joined by Yamaha legends and champions Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, and Kenny Roberts.
Lorenzo Crashes in Practice Again; This Time He’ll Skip the Race
Fri, 12 Jul 2013Reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo has suffered another high-speed crash during free practice ahead of the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring. Lorenzo had a similar crash during practice in the previous round at Assen, but still lined up on the grid to race, finishing fifth despite breaking his collarbone in three places in the accident. This time, however, the Yamaha rider decided to withdraw from the race.
2014 Yamaha MT-09 Three-Cylinder Street Bike Announced for Europe – to be Named FZ-09 in US
Tue, 11 Jun 2013A couple of weeks ago, Yamaha Europe released a video called “Dark Side of Japan” teasing a new street bike it claimed would “change the sport motorcycle world.” Today, the company revealed its new model, introducing a new naked sportbike powered by a “Crossplane” three-cylinder engine called the MT-09. (EDIT: and we can now reveal that the North American version will be known as the Yamaha FZ-09.) The 2014 Yamaha MT-09 is powered by a new 847cc three-cylinder engine first teased at Intermot last year. According to Yamaha, the MT-09′s engine produces 113.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 64.5 ft-lb.
