Recall for 2011 Yamaha FJR1300

Mon, 11 Jul 2011

Yamaha is initiating a recall campaign the 2011 FJR1300, just a week after a separate recall for the 2006-2009 versions of the sport touring motorcycle. Like the earlier campaign, the recall for the 2011 Yamaha FJR1300 is for an electrical issue,  this time for the brake lights. Noticeably absent is Yamaha which announced last summer it would pull out of WSBK racing.

The leaked pictures suggested the biggest change from the 2007 version would be some fresh graphics but I was so wrong.  As it turned out, I was greeted in Almeria with a brand new bike, built from the tarmac up and it proved to be more than a match in every department for the much hyped 2009 Yamaha R1.
